Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibiotic used in the treatment of systemic bacterial infections.

According to the dosage forms the following routes of administration are available:
• Oral
• Parenteral

The drug kills the bacteria by attacking their cell wall. It inhibit the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell wall, thus inhibiting biosynthesis and arresting cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death.

Should be taken with the help of doctor if allergic conditions arise and also in the case of
• Penicillin allergy
• Renal impairment
• During pregnancy and breastfeeding
Report to the physician if the patients are allergic to the active ingredients and any other drugs.

• Malaise
• Fatigue
• Seizures
