Streptomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used in tuberculosis and other susceptible bacterial infections.

Antibiotics- (Antitubercular Antibiotic)

Treatment of :
• Moderate to severe infections
• Tularaemia
• Bacterial endocarditis
• Plague

As advised by the physician.

It should be taken parenterally.

Streptomycin works by inhibiting the bacterial protein synthesis by binding directly to the 30S ribosomal subunits causing faulty peptide sequence to form in the protein chain.

Inform the physician if the patient is allergic to the active ingredients and any other drugs. Brief about the allergy and the signs like:
• Rash
• Itching
• Shortness of breath
• Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat or any other signs.
The patient should tell the doctor about any history of:
• Vestibule
• Auditary dysfunction

Pregnancy, hypersensitivity

Report to the physician immediately if the patients are having any of these following symptoms:
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Stomach upset
• Loss of appetite
• Spinning sensation (vertigo)
• Injection site reactions (pain irritation and redness)
• Tingling or prickling sensation in the face

If allergic to any food, please consult with the physician.

Consumption of alcohol is not advisable.
