Each uncoated Alzolam 0.25 mg tablet contains: Alprazolam 0.25 mg and Excipients q.s.

Alprazolam is a triazolobenzodiazepine, acts on benzodiazepine receptors BNZ-1 and BNZ-2. The action of alprazolam on BNZ-1 mediates the sedation and anti-anxiety effects, while the action on BNZ-2 mediates the effect on memory, coordination, muscle relaxation, and anticonvulsive activity.
Alprazolam also couple with GABA-A receptors to enhance GABA binding to its receptor. This interaction mediates inhibition of the nervous system and results in a calming effect.

Use of Alzolam 0.25 mg Tablet:

Alzolam 0.25 mg tablet is prescribed for the treatment of severe anxiety or severe anxiety associated with depression. Due to its dependency or habit-forming nature, usually it is used for a short-term mode of treatment.
